Queensland firearms licences are issued by category. Choose the category that matches your intended use. Not sure? You can decide on the day of your course.
How Pricing Works
Pay a $100 deposit when you book to secure your spot. The remaining balance is paid on the day of your course. All prices include your training, assessment, range fees and statement of attainment upon completion of the course and once you have met the criteria.
Category A & B
Rifles & Shotguns
For primary producers, sporting shooters, and collectors requiring long arms.
$100 deposit + $60 on the day

- Shotguns (all types)
Approved Uses
- Primary production (farming)
- Sport/target shooting
- Recreational hunting
- Collecting
Category H
Handguns
For approved sporting shooters who are members of an approved pistol club.
$100 deposit + $60 on the day
Firearms Covered
- Sport/target pistols
- Revolvers
- Air pistols (over 4.5mm)
Approved Uses
- Sport/target shooting only
- Must join approved club
- Probationary period applies
- Minimum shoots required
Combined A&B + H
Best Value
Complete training for both long arms and handguns in a single day course.
$100 deposit + $100 on the day

Other Categories
We also offer training for Category C and D (restricted firearms for primary producers and commercial shooters) and Category M (miscellaneous - crossbow) for eligible applicants. Contact us for availability.
